In July, Jason was scheduled to go to a conference in Dallas. He asked if the family wanted to tag along and book a little vacation time on the front and back end of the trip. So we packed up the family plus my sister Melanie and headed out to the Big "D" during the last week of July. We ate so much yummy food, shopped until we dropped and went to some fun places with the girls. We also go the chance to stay for free in a fully furnished loft apartment in downtown Dallas where the view was spectacular! An incredible friend that attends the church Jason was on staff at in Dallas really hooked us up.
But, if you asked our girls, the whole reason we went to Dallas was to go to heaven on earth for little girls...the American Girl Doll Store. (cue the Hallelujah chorus)
Emma and Ava got bitten with the American Girl doll bug when we visited one in Atlanta a couple of years ago.
Emma turned 6 while we were on the trip and this was all she wanted to do for her birthday. She wanted to pick out a doll and eat in their cafe with her doll.
How is she 6???
Ava cracks me up!
Ava chose the Girl of the Year doll, Kanani.
Emma eating with her doll. She named her Emily. She said she named the doll after herself.
Lila "borrowed" this doll to eat with. She was so stinking excited. Can't you tell?
The birthday girl...
I promise that adults did attend this trip even though none were photographed!
