new adventures

Pretty much all of the pictures that I have posted blog have been by my husband (Jason).  Some of the ones have been taken for fun, others he has worked really hard for that right "shot".  Now he has decided he is going to photography, as he calls it "his side project".  Well, I am excited to see what happens with it, check out his blog for more info.

good friends, old and new

This past Saturday we headed to Memphis to celebrate some of our best friends little girl's birthday.  Presley was turning one!  Candice is so creative and she loves to decorate.  Of course, she did a great job with the party!

The sweet family... Presley never would look up:)

During the whole opening presents part of the party, this is how Ava stood.  Pouting.  She did not understand why there was all of these gifts and she could not open a single one.  It was too funny.

This is Ava breaking one of the ten commandments.  "Thou shall not covet..."

But all was made better by the party favors, these awesome flower cookies!

Doesn't my child look thrilled to be taking a picture with me?

Nearing the end of the party, Ava became obsessed with these sandals that Presley got as a gift. She was determined they were going to fit!

We have been really blessed to have such good friends in our lives, new and old ones.  We have met another couple at our church that are the same age and in the same life stage as us.  We hit it off immediately!

These are some pics that Jason took of their sweet baby Nora when they were hanging out at our house.  Neal and Courtney have 2 other girls Emme who is 3 1/2 and Macy who is 2 1/2.

what were we thinking?

Meet the newest addition to the family...

our new puppy.

You're thinking..."Awww, he's cute!" or maybe "Puppies are so sweet!"

You know what I am thinking? "What were we thinking?!?!"

Lately, Emma has had a fascination with the movie Lady and the Tramp.

Oh, by the way.  I am totally realizing now that Disney movies were a little racy back in the day.  I mean a philandering dog named Tramp?  How about the the girl dog that sings, "He's a tramp, but I love him..."  Uhmm, yeah.  By the way, Emma sings that song all the time.  Try explaining to other customers in a store why she is singing that song.

Anyways, back to our new dog.  Emma has been saying over and over to us that she wants to get a lady dog.  Well, on Valentine's Day we went to the Flea Market in Tupelo (I know what you're thinking.  Could our Valentine's Day be any more romantic?).  Dogs were a plenty there.  Emma found her lady there.

Except is was black and white not blond and it was no lady at all.  It was a male.  Emma called him Lady for the first few days before we could settle on a name.  I was content to let her call him lady, but Jason was not going to have our boy emasculated in that way.  I suggested maybe the name "Dude, looks like a lady!", but alas that was turned down also.  So, Jason and I compromised.

Meet Harley.

We decided on that name so that Jason's need for a motorcycle will be put to rest for awhile.  He now has his own Harley... and we will sell him to the highest bidder:)

happy valentine's day!

Jason and I celebrated Valentine's Day on Friday since our church hosted a Parent's Night Out.

Side note... I love Parent's Night Out. 3 hours of adult activities and conversations is blissful. And it is even more wonderful when it is free! I always hate date night in a way because by the time you pay for a babysitter and go to dinner and maybe a movie, you are looking at around a $100 night. A couple could go broke having "quality time"!

Jason and I went with out friends the Caldwells to dinner at Park Heights. It was so yummy and romantic. Jason and Britt were so sweet to have roses waiting for us on the table.

On Valentine's Day we gave the girls a Fancy Nancy sticker set. They loved it!

long time no see...

Well, it's been around a month since I blogged last.  Life has gotten so busy lately!  Here's some random photos over the past month.

Ava and I have begun to spend a lot of time together since Emma got into preschool.  It is really funny to watch my fiercely independent girl want to spend all of the time that Emma is gone snuggling up to me.  I never thought that I would actually say that it is harder to get things done with one child in the house than two!
Anybody that has spent some time with Ava knows that she is fond of babies.  One pretty day we spent the majority of our time walking up and down the street.  Ava was so proud that she got to push her baby in her stroller outside.  I had to drag her inside at lunch.

One night we turned on a cartoon for the girls and we looked over and they were laying together so sweet!  There's nothing like some sisterly love... Well, until somebody takes away a toy and then hits or bites the other one.  I think I'll just treasure this pic for now...

My friend Sonya from Balentine Bliss gave me this blogging award, kind of awhile back. Thanks, Sonya!  I'm not going to follow the rules and pass it forward, mostly because many of my friends have already received this award and it has been a long time since I received it.  I guess that may not make me worthy of a good blogging attitude...
